Ward 1 Candidates

 David Emma

David Emma

 

 

David Emma [Incumbent] has served on the 1st Ward Caucus Committee for over a year as an interim appointee and is seeking election to a full term.  David graduated magna cum laude from Western Illinois University, with a B.A. in Public Communications Human Relations, is a graduate of LFHS and a proud veteran of the United States Navy.  David is an accomplished Human Resources and Executive Search professional.  He works for Walgreens at their corporate headquarters in Talent Acquisition & Diversity Services.  David and his wife Amber moved back to Lake Forest in 1998, purchased his childhood home, spent the next seven years restoring it and are thrilled to now be raising their son there.  He and his family truly believe that Lake Forest is a special place and enjoy giving back to this wonderful community. 
 

 

Beth Laufenberg

 

Beth Laufenberg  [Incumbent] has served for the past year on the 1st Ward Caucus Committee as an interim appointee and is seeking election to a full term. Beth holds a BS from the University of Illinois and a JD from Chicago-Kent College of Law.  A former prosecutor, Beth is currently an inactive attorney and a very active mom.  She and her husband, Allen, have two children.  Beth first saw Lake Forest when she was just 13 and has been in love with the town ever since. Beth was able to fulfill her wish and moved to Lake Forest in 2005.  Beth's volunteer activities have included serving on the Boards of The Volunteer Center of Lake Forest/Lake Bluff as Secretary, Gorton Children's Drop-In Parent Board, Treasurer, First Presbyterian Preschool Board, the Sheridan APT, TIME Zone, and District 67 APT.  Beth volunteers for the Spirit of 67, AYSO and the Friends of Lake Forest Library.  Beth is pleased to be able to give back to the community. 
 

 

 Bob Ruggles

Bob Ruggles [Incumbent] has served on the 1st Ward Caucus Committee as an interim appointee.  Bob served as a Caucus member in 2007 and a partial term in 2008 and is now seeking election to fulfill the balance of his term.  Bob has earned Bachelors of Architecture and Masters of Architecture degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with emphasis on Urban Design.  Bob, along with his wife Monica are registered Architects and since 1991 have had their own design firm in Lake Forest where they have focused on a wide range of residential and commercial projects.  Bob and Monica have two children in high school and one in college. Bob is active in the community serving as the Director of the Howard Van Doren Shaw Society, AYSO, Boy Scout Troop 46, and a volunteer at LFHS in the Architecture class. Bob is also a partner with Center Avenue Partners, the multi-use real estate property ownership group, responsible for the revitalization of the Lake Bluff Central Business District.  As a licensed Architect with a preservation background, Bob would like to give back by using his skills to contribute an in-depth understanding of the Lake Forest municipal review process to the selection of candidates for Boards and Commissions. 

 

 

 


Ward 2 Candidates

 Whit Annibali

Whit Annibali

 

With more than 40 years of residency in Lake Forest, Whit Annibali lives here with his wife and their 13 year old daughter.  Whit holds a MBA from Washington University in St. Louis, MO and a BS in Business Administration from Northeastern University in Boston, MA.  Whit has volunteered as a mentor at both his work and Washington University and has participated in several corporate sponsored causes including the United Way and the Ronald MacDonald House.  Whit would like to join the caucus in order to serve and give back to the community in which he was born and raised.

 

 Chris Collins

Chris Collins grew up in Countryside Lake in unincorporated Lake County, attended Carmel High School and Purdue University. After graduating from college, Chris started his own business, which he successfully sold.  Subsequently, Chris was a partner at Oak Ridge Investments where he acted as technology research analyst and Portfolio Manager. Chris currently works at Merrill Lynch as an advisor. Chris and his wife Betty lived in Chicago until moving in 2009 to Lake Forest, in the Villa Turicum area.  They have three children, who attend St. Mary's School.  Chris's volunteer activities include Purdue Committee, Scouts Soccer Coach, Baseball Coach and St. Benedicts Parent Council.  Chris enjoys living in Lake Forest and would like to be an engaged and active community member.

 

 

Kirsten Kohlmeyer

iKirsten Kohlmeyer s a 1980 graduate of LFHS and has been a community member for over 20 years.  She has a B.S. in Occupational Therapy from the University of New Hampshire and a M.S. in Rehabilitation Administration from DePaul University.   Kirsten specializes in Assistive Technology and is employed by the Special Education District of Lake County.   She is currently filling a vacated position on the Caucus and has been active on the Lake Forest Soccer Association Board, Deerpath Middle School APT Board, District 115 Education Committee and the LFHS Booster Board.  She and her husband Gary have 2 children, Seth and Lauren.

 

 

Mary Reppert

 

Mary Reppert has a Masters in Social Work from the University of Nebraska.  Mary and her husband, Doc, are retired and have lived in the Villa Turicum section of Lake Forest for 5 years.  Mary previously lived in Glencoe, where she participated in the Glencoe School Board Caucus, the PTA and a variety of school and community activities.  She and her husband have adult children who are now independent. Mary is looking forward to volunteering in the community where she now lives. 



Ward 3 Candidates

 Nick Bothfeld

Nick Bothfeld

Nick Bothfeld graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University and received his MBA from the University of Chicago. He is a financial planner and investment advisor affiliated with Lincoln Financial Advisors. Nick and his wife Elizabeth (Bobbie) Brown have two grown children and have lived in Lake Forest for the last 16 years; his wife grew up here as well. Nick served on the Board and as President of the Winter Club of Lake Forest, and is currently Chairman of the Board at Friends of Ryerson Woods. He also spent close to a decade involved on the Board and as Treasurer on the Executive Committee of the Alliance for the Great Lakes an environmental advocacy, non-profit organization. Now that Nick has more free time, he would like to give back to the community and contribute to keeping it a wonderful place.

 

 Kathryn Duffey

Kathryn Duffey

Kathryn Duffey  received a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from the University of Illinois.  She is a registered pharmacist in Illinois and worked at Target's pharmacy from 2004-2009.  She and her husband, Michael, have lived in Lake Forest twice for a total of 14 years and have four grown children.  Kathryn was previously on the Parents' Club Board at the School of St. Mary and on the Homeowner's Board of Onwentsia Gardens.  She also is a member of the Guild of St. Mary and served as a Circle leader in the past.  Kathryn enjoys living in the City of Lake Forest and realizes that it is a wonderful place because of the efforts of those who came before.  Serving on the Caucus would be one way for her to do her part and keep Lake Forest a great place for those in the future. 

 Tim Hender

 Tim Hender

Tim Hender and his wife, Alana, grew up in Lake Forest and have chosen to return and raise their three elementary school aged children here.  Tim graduated from The University of Vermont with a Bachelors of Arts degree.  He is currently employed as a Financial Representative for Northwestern Mutual Financial Network and is a former member of the Chicago Board Options Exchange. Tim coaches numerous sports teams around Lake Forest, including soccer, baseball and flag football.  He is also a member of Knollwood Club and skipper in the Chicago Yacht Club Race to Mackinaw.  Tim believes that Lake Forest is an amazing community and would like to do his part to make sure it continues to grow and flourish in the years ahead.

Eileen Looby

 Eileen Looby

Eileen Looby, a lifelong resident of Lake Forest, received her B.A.  in Horticultural Production and Marketing from Purdue University and her M.B.A. from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management.   Eileen is the Vice President of Lake Forest Flowers. Eileen is actively involved in the community. She currently is the President of the Amberley Woods Condominium Association and on the Boards of the Purdue University Agriculture Alumni Association, Carmel Catholic High School, the Lake Forest 150th Anniversary Steering Committee, the Lake Forest-Lake Bluff Chamber of Commerce and the Illinois Club for Catholic Women Junior Board, where Eileen served a two year term as President.  Eileen is also host of "Inside Lake Forest", an interview program highlighting the people and places of Lake Forest, airing on Channel 17.  Eileen would like to give back to a community which she believes is unique because of its historic preservation and provides a safe and beautiful home to its many residents.


Ward 4 Candidates

 

Robert Lisk

Robert Lisk is a professional builder with a BS in Civil Engineering from USC and a MBA from the Lake Forest Graduate School of Management.  Robert's educational and work experience will assist him in the Caucus role of recruiting and vetting qualified candidates to serve on the many Boards and Commissions that deal with building and zoning issues. Robert and his wife Elizabeth have lived in Lake Forest for the past seven years.  They have two young children and are actively involved in the school and park systems.  Robert would like fulfill his civic responsibility by stepping forward and offer to help his community.

 

David Rauch

 

David Rauch [Incumbent] has served on the 4th Ward Caucus Committee for the past year as an interim appointee and is seeking election to a full term. David has a BA in Chemistry from Carthage College, David currently works at a large, international health care company   David and his wife Mary have two children and have lived in Lake Forest over 12 years.  They are parishioners of St. Mary's and David is a volunteer coach of AYSO soccer.  His family enjoys the many parks, events and other benefits of being a Lake Forest resident. David has enjoyed the benefits living in Lake Forest and has a strong interest in ensuring that this tradition continues into the future.

 

 

Amy Tsarwhas

Amy (Anne Maria) Tsarwhas has a BBA and MBA from the University of Michigan.  Amy and her husband Dean have lived in Lake Forest for the past 11 years. They have three teenage children.  Amy has been active in the community and has served on the on the APT Boards for Districts 67 and 115 and as the Executive Board Treasurer for the Spirit of 67 Board and as the Treasurer of the Grants Committee Ascension of Our Lord Church Women's Group  Amy is active in a number of community service projects, including her role as Co-chair of the Open Doors Mentor Program.  Amy has a strong history of volunteer service and sees service on the Caucus Committee as a way to expand her knowledge of the city government while contributing to the community.
