 Kent Novit

Ward 1

Kent Novit [Incumbent] was elected First Ward Alderman and took office on May 5, 2008. He previously was a member of the Zoning Board of Appeals from May 2003 to May 2008 where he served as Chairman from May 2006 to May 2008. He is a member of the City Council's Finance and Public Works Committees and acts as Council liaison on issues concerning senior services and community relations. Mr. Novit has a B.A. from Northwestern University and a J.D. from John Marshall Law School. He is a partner with Chicago law firm of Novit and Novit. He believes that individuals who care about their community should become involved and contribute their time and skills for the good of the community. A resident for over 15 years, Kent enjoys the Lake Forest community with his wife Nancy and their two daughters.


 

 David Moore

 

Ward 2

David Moore [Incumbent] is the President and CEO of Woodland Foods, a gourmet food, import business he started in 1989. David grew up in Northern Michigan and attended Ripon College in Ripon, Wisconsin. David and his wife Diana, a life-long resident of Lake Forest, were married in Lake Forest in 1991, lived in Lake Bluff for several years, finally settling in Lake Forest in 1997. The Moore's have two boys and two girls. David serves on the Lake Forest Open Lands Board of Governors, and is involved with other boards and charitable organizations including the National Trust-Council for Historic Preservation, The Art Institute, Des Plaines Wetland Conservancy and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. Prior to taking office as Second Ward Alderman in May 2010, he served on the Historic Preservation Commission for two and a half terms. David Moore believes it is his civic responsibility to have a positive impact on his community.


 


Stanford Tack

Ward 3

Stanford (Randy) Tack  is an orthopedic spine surgeon and managing partner of the Illinois Bone and Joint institute, Libertyville/Lake Forest Division.  He has previously served on the Board of Managers of the Illinois Bone and Joint Institute and the Midwest Orthopedic Network.  He has also served as President of the Lake Forest Club and Vice Chairman of the Department of Surgery at Lake Forest Hospital.  Randy holds B.S. and M.D. Degrees from the University of Illinois and completed a Spine Surgery Fellowship at Rush University Medical Center.   He has lived in the third ward of Lake Forest for 20 years.  Randy is married to Paula and they have 4 adult children.      


 

 Robert Palmer

Ward 4

Robert Palmer [Incumbent] is Chairman of Central Federal Savings and Loan Association of Chicago. Prior to becoming Chairman, he was a commercial litigation attorney. Bob received his undergraduate degree in economics from Colgate University and his law degree from the University of Notre Dame, following which he served as Law Clerk to Justice Walter V. Schaefer of the Illinois Supreme Court. He was appointed Fourth Ward Alderman on May 5, 2008. Prior to joining the City Council, he served as Chairman of the Cemetery Commission and as Chairman of the Legal Committee from its inception in 2006. Currently, Bob serves on the Finance Committee and acts as the City Council liaison on legal services issues. For over 20 years, he was active in the Northeast Illinois Council of the Boy Scouts of America, as Scoutmaster of Troop 46 at the First Presbyterian Church and as a member of the Council's Executive Board. Bob's current civic activities include serving as a Director and Assistant Secretary of the Chicago Crime Commission. He and his wife, Ann Therese, have lived in Lake Forest since 1989 and have two adult sons, both currently serving in the United States Marine Corps.
