President Susan Franzetti
|
Susan Franzetti earned a Northwestern University, B.A. History and Political Science and a Loyola University of Chicago School of Law, J.D. Susan is a partner in the law firm of Nijman Franzetti LLP specializing in environmental law handling environmental legal projects in the areas of water, land and air. Susan Franzetti was selected by her peers as the Lawyer of the Year for 2010 in Environmental Law for Chicago. Additionally, Susan is committed to community service and has served in various roles including Lake Forest Caucus 2005-2008: Member, Fourth Ward Chairperson, Secretary; Lake Forest Caucus 2010-2011: Vice-President; Lake Forest Open Lands 2008-2010: Member of Board of Managers; Lake Forest Open Lands 2010-present: Member of Board of Directors. Susan believes in giving back to the community.

Vice President Gary Peet
|
Gary Peet was a managing director at Bank of America, where he managed units in Leveraged Finance and Portfolio Management. He received his BA in Economics from Duke University, his MBA from the Darden School, University of Virginia and his JD from the College of William and Mary. Gary and his wife Susan have lived in Lake Forest with their two children for twenty years. Gary serves as a Lake County election judge. He believes that through the Caucus he is able to give something back to the community that has served his family so well.

Secretary Donna Williams
|
Donna Williams earned a Biomedical Engineering degree from Brown and an MBA from University of Chicago. Her professional career has included 25 years in healthcare marketing and product development at Baxter. She is currently a part time faculty member at Loyola University, and continues consulting in healthcare strategy and marketing. Donna and her husband Don have lived in Lake Forest since 1996, with their three children. Through volunteering her time on the caucus, Donna hopes to help preserve the character and assets of Lake Forest.

Treasurer Todd Puch
|
Todd Puch has been a Lake Forest resident since 2004, although his connection goes much deeper, since his wife grew up here. Born in Ohio, he moved to Illinois to earn a B.S. in mathematics from the University of Chicago. He has been employed as a trader at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange since 1996. He and his wife, Christine Stephens, have two children. Todd also serves on the Board of the Friends of Lake Forest Library. Todd is interested in becoming involved with the political process of the community.

Communications Susan Dedo
|
Susan Dedo earned a BS in Speech and a MA in Audiology from Northwestern University. Susan practiced pediatric audiology at Children's Hospital in Boston, and the University of Michigan Hospitals, She was the Director of Audiology at the Catherine McAuley Health Center. Susan has actively volunteered in the communities in which she has lived. She has served as a Trustee, Building Committee member, capital campaign member and as a fundraising chair for schools and community organizations. Susan served as a board member of the LF/LB Volunteer Center and the Deerpath Garden Club and a member of the Lake Forest Preservation Foundation. Susan is committed to giving back to the community.

Fundraising Chair Rich Chapman

Rich Chapman, a graduate of the University of Wisconsin and an Air Force Veteran, Rich worked for ARAMARK Education as Director of Business Development for 35 years. Rich and his wife Leslie have been long term supporters and members of the LF/LB Historical Society, The Lake Forest Preservation Foundation, Lake Forest Open Lands and Friends of Lake Forest Library. Rich served on the Lake County Haven and The Produce for Better Health Boards. His recent retirement significantly reduced his travelling requirements and he now has the time to "return the favor" to the community that has been a wonderful place to live.

Matt Garrigan Ward 1 Chair

Matt Garrigan, a graduate of Dennison University owns his own investment management business. Matt and his wife Brooke have lived in Lake Forest since 2003 and have 3 young children. Matt has been involved as a volunteer in local sports and is also active in Scouting. Matt believes it is a privilege to have an opportunity to volunteer one's time to help ensure the city in which we live continues to be a great place to both work and raise a family.

Peg Determan Ward 2 Chair

Peg Determan earned her BS in Economics from the University of Iowa and her JD from Columbia University. After practicing law in Chicago at Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal, Peg was a partner in their New York office before retiring to spend more time with her family. While in New York, Peg volunteered in local government, serving on a committee to place a bond referendum before the community and also serving her village's Open Space Committee. Peg, her husband Lance Balk and their three sons enjoy the outstanding parks and recreational opportunities provided by Lake Forest. They particularly enjoy sailing and other recreational opportunities. Peg volunteers with Reading Power in North Chicago and with Applause.

Terri Karst Ward 3 Chair

Terri Karst received her B.S. in Business Administration and M.S. in Accounting from the University of Kansas. After working for Ernst & Young and in the private sector, she is now a stay at home mom. Terri has lived in Lake Forest since 1995 (with a two year stint in Los Angeles) with her husband, Darren, and two daughters. In the past, Terri was the Treasurer for the Lake Forest High School APT, Secretary of the Guild of St. Mary, and has served on various tennis and racquet committees at Lake Forest Club and Knollwood Club. Currently, Terri is President of the Lake Shore Women's Tennis League. Since her days of school volunteering have come to an end, the Caucus is the way Terri can participate in the City of Lake Forest and on its various committees.

Michael Freeman Ward 4 Chair

Michael Freeman received a BS in Economics from Marquette university and a JD from Chicago Kent School of Law. Mike is an attorney and Director with Walgreen Company in Deerfield, where he concentrates on managing the firm's professional malpractice, product liability and general liability litigation. Mike speaks frequently at bar association seminars and mentors high school students by coaching them in debate. Mike, his wife Maureen and their four children have lived in Lake Forest since 2003. Mike also continues to serve Lake Forest School District 67 on the Emotional Wellness Committee. He views serving on the Caucus as a natural extension of his community service endeavors.
