Matthew Garrigan

Matt Garrigan, a graduate of Dennison University owns his own investment management business.  Matt and his wife Brooke have lived in Lake Forest since 2003 and have 3 young children.  Matt has been involved as a volunteer in local sports and is also active in Scouting.  Matt believes it is a privilege to have an opportunity to volunteer one's time to help ensure the city in which we live continues to be a great place to both work and raise a family.

Bill Brown is a graduate of the University of Illinois and currently is the Chief Operating Officer of a national non-profit trade association. Bill and his wife, Jocelyn both serve as association executives in the Chicagoland area. Bill has extensive experience working with state and local governments including serving as a legislative liaison in Governor Jim Edgar's administration. Bill first moved to Lake Forest at the age of five, and as a graduate of Lake Forest High School and former part-time employee of the Lake Forest Recreation Center, is eager to protect the benefits of being a Lake Forest resident. After receiving so much from the community, Bill looks forward to the opportunity to give back and protect the qualities that make Lake Forest such a great place to live and raise a family.

David Emma Graduated Magna Cum Laude from Western Illinois University, with a B.A. in Public Communications Human Relations, is a graduate of LFHS and a proud veteran of the United States Navy.  David is an accomplished Human Resources and Executive Search professional.  He works for Walgreens at their corporate headquarters in Talent Acquisition & Diversity Services.  David and his wife Amber moved back to LF in 1998, purchased his childhood home, spent the next seven years restoring it and are thrilled to now be raising their son there.  He and his family truly believe that Lake Forest is a special place and enjoy giving back to this wonderful community. 

 

Scott Lane
2013

Scott Lane is a graduate of Miami University and has an MA from the University of Cincinnati.  He currently is employed by Kraft Foods as a Senior Product Manager. Scott and his wife Mary have lived in Lake Forest since 1997 with their two school aged children.  Scott has been active in community service as a member of the School of St. Mary Advisory Committee, coaching the St. Mary's basketball team and as a volunteer for the Lake Forest 4th of July celebration.  Interested in giving back to the community and learning more about city government, Scott wants to meet and work with people in the community that share a similar interest in improving Lake Forest. 

 

Beth Laufenberg
2012

 

Beth Laufenberg holds a BS from the University of Illinois and a JD from Chicago-Kent College of Law.  A former prosecutor, Beth is currently an inactive attorney and a very active mom.  She and her husband, Allen, have two children.  Beth first saw Lake Forest when she was just 13 and has been in love with the town ever since. Beth was able to fulfill her wish and moved to Lake Forest in 2005.  Beth's volunteer activities have included serving on the boards of The Volunteer Center of Lake Forest/Lake Bluff (Secretary), Gorton Children's Drop-In Parent Board (Treasurer), First Presbyterian Preschool Board (Property), the Sheridan APT (Directory, Room Parent Coordinator, TIME Zone, Yearbook) and District 67 APT (Yearbook).  Beth volunteers for the Spirit of 67, AYSO and the Friends of Lake Forest Library.  Beth is pleased to be able to give back to the community. 

 

Tom Matkov
2013

 

Tom Matkov, a native of Chicago, attended Rush Medical College and now practices urology in Racine, Wisconsin, at St. Mary's Hospital. Tom along with wife Laura Whisler, M.D. and their two young sons, have made Lake Forest their home since 2008. Despite a busy schedule, Tom still finds time to volunteer his professional skills for the Health Care Network in Racine, a non-profit group. Tom is thrilled to be living in Ward 1, where his son attends Sheridan School. Tom looks forward to "giving back" to the City.

 

Jean Meyer
2014

 

Jean Meyer earned her MS from Marquette University in Speech Language Pathology.  Jean is a licensed, pediatric speech language pathologist. She delivers services to children in their homes and private pediatric clinics.   Jean is also a licensed hippotherapy clinical instructor. Jean has lived in the Lake Forest vicinity for over 20 years where her four grown children attended St. Mary's School.  As the wife of a career Navy Dental Officer, she had the opportunity to live and travel world wide, and has chosen to call Lake Forest home.  Jean volunteered on committees and boards within the Navy community and in her children's schools.  Jean has come to truly appreciate the warm welcoming atmosphere of Lake Forest.

Peg Determan

Peg Determan earned her BS in Economics from the University of Iowa and her JD from Columbia University.  After practicing law in Chicago at Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal, Peg was a partner in their New York office before retiring to spend more time with her family.  While in New York, Peg volunteered in local government, serving on a committee to place a bond referendum before the community and also serving her village's Open Space Committee.  Peg, her husband Lance Balk and their three sons enjoy the outstanding parks and recreational opportunities provided by Lake Forest.  They particularly enjoy sailing and other recreational opportunities. Peg volunteers with Reading Power in North Chicago and with Applause.
 

 

Cynthia Annibali

Cindy Annibali is a graduate of Lake Forest College with a BA in Art History and Psychology.  She has been an active participant in various community activities such as Allendale Shelter Club (10 years), Northwestern Lake Forest Women's Auxiliary Board (5 years) and DPM APT Board (currently).  Cindy is a 30-year resident of Lake Forest and lives here with her husband Whit and her middle school aged daughter. Cindy wants to help maintain the quality of life in Lake Forest; and she enjoys getting involved in the community. 

 Tom Condon

Tom Condon is a graduate of Xavier University with a BA in Information Systems.  He has over 29 years experience as an IT consultant.  He is currently a Vice President with Capgemini helping global Fortune 500 companies plan, design, implement and outsource technology.Tom and his wife Khris have lived in Lake Forest for 9 years with their 12 year old triplets, who attend Deer Path Middle School.  Tom enjoys the many opportunities Lake Forest provides for a family to be active at the parks, community events, swimming and sailing at the beach.  Tom volunteers as a soccer coach for AYSO, a baseball coach for the Recreation Center, and helps out with Boy Scouts.  Tom is committed to helping Lake Forest preserve the character and assets of the community, which drove his family's decision to live here.  

 

Scott Crawford
2014

Scott Crawford is a senior financial executive at Takeda Pharmaceuticals International, Scott earned his BA in Economics and BS in Accountancy from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, his MBA from the University of Chicago, and is a CPA.  Scott and his wife Leslie have lived in Lake Forest for 8 years and have three children, ages 10, 7 and 5. For the past three years Scott has served as Nation Chief/President for the Lake Forest & Lake Bluff Fox Nation Indian Guide and Princess Program.  Scott has also been active in local organizations such as Junior Achievement and the University of Illinois Young Commerce Alumni Board.  Scott thinks Lake Forest is a terrific place to live. 

 

Leslie Gleason
2012

Leslie Gleason has a BS in Business Administration from Bradley University and an MBA in Entrepreneurship from DePaul University. Currently a realtor,  Leslie and her family moved to Lake Forest more than seven years ago from Chicago, where she was active on zoning and security committees. As a parent of two boys, ages five and eight, Leslie has been an active member of the Cherokee APT Board and the First Presbyterian Preschool Board. Leslie wishes to participate on the Caucus, because it is a good way to get involved, learn more about local government, and give back to her community. 

 

Kirsten Kohlmeyer
2014

Kirsten Kohlmeyer is a 1980 graduate of LFHS and has been a community member for over 20 years.  She is an occupational therapist currently employed by the Special Education District of Lake County.  Kirsten has been active on the Lake Forest Soccer Association Board, Deerpath Middle School APT Board, District 115 Education Committee and the LFHS Booster Board.  She and her husband Gary have 2 children, Seth and Lauren. 

 

David Lutrey
2013

David Lutrey earned his law degree and MBA from DePaul University and now manages the Lake Forest law firm of Lesser, Lutrey & McGlynn, LLP. David has served as the President of the Lake Forest Chamber of Commerce and  the Lake Forest-Lake Bluff Rotary Club.  Currently, he is a board member of the Historical Society.  In 2009, Mayor Rummel appointed David to the CBD Advocacy Committee.  David and his wife Jane have twins attending Cherokee School.  David thinks the City of Lake Forest is one of a kind and enjoys serving the community.
 

 

Tom Papastefan
2013 

Tom Papastefan is a fourteen year resident of Lake Forest. He and his wife Valerie have two children, ages fifteen and twelve. Tom has been active at the Ascension of Our Lord Greek Orthodox Church, serving on the Parish Council and also as chair of a capital campaign and the Stewardship Committee. He has been a member of the Chicago Symphony Youth Orchestra and Midlothian County Club boards. A graduate of Western Illinois University, Tom is Director of Citigroup's Institutional Futures Division in Chicago. Tom and his family enjoy living in Lake Forest, taking advantage of all that it offers.
 

 Carrie Travers

Carrie Travers Carrie graduated from Northern Illinois University, earning a B.S. in Management with an emphasis in Labor Relations.  After which she worked in Human Resources and Sales.  Carrie, husband John and their 2 children have made Lake Forest their home for the past 14 years.  While raising her children, Carrie fulfilled the accounts payable and receivable functions at her husband's company.  Carrie has held community leadership positions including:  President of the Cherokee Elementary School APT; Technology Director, Spirit of 67 Foundation; and Parent Representative, Education Committee, for the District 67 School Board.  Carrie has volunteered for children's literacy programs, child daycare programs and the Lake Forest public schools. Currently, Carrie is pursuing a Master of Liberal Arts degree at the University of Chicago.

Terri Karst

Terri Karst received her B.S. in Business Administration and M.S. in Accounting from the University of Kansas. After working for Ernst & Young and in the private sector, she is now a stay at home mom. Terri has lived in Lake Forest since 1995 (with a two year stint in Los Angeles) with her husband, Darren, and two daughters. In the past, Terri was the Treasurer for the Lake Forest High School APT, Secretary of the Guild of St. Mary, and has served on various tennis and racquet committees at Lake Forest Club and Knollwood Club. Currently, Terri is President of the Lake Shore Women's Tennis League. Since her days of school volunteering have come to an end, the Caucus is the way Terri can participate in the City of Lake Forest and on its various committees.

 Alex Hodges

Alex Hodges is a lifetime resident of Lake Forest.  He earned his BA at the University of Denver.  His career spans 30 years in the insurance business, 25 of which were spent with AON in the US and overseas.  Today he manages a web-based business providing international insurance information to insurance professionals worldwide.  In addition, Alex is an active partner in a firm operating in the healthcare space which specializes in driving up direct marketing response rates through proprietary research into consumer attitudes.  Alex has served on the Board of the Lake Forest-Lake Bluff United Way. Alex would like to give back to the community in which most of his family lives.

 

Elizabeth Moore
2012

Liz Moore earned her BS in Psychology from the University of Illinois and worked for Baxter healthcare as a Territory manager.  For the past 20 years Liz has worked part time for Bartels Company.  Liz is active in the Lake Forest community serving with a number of organizations including the Lake Forest Junior Women's club, Deerpath APT, the Spirit of 67 and Friends of Gorton Board.  Liz  served as a parent volunteer for Boy Scout Troop 64, a member of market Square Questers and as Vice President of the Lake Forest Preservation Foundation Board.

 

Peter O'Malley
2012

Peter O'Malley is a seven year resident of Lake Forest. He and his wife Deborah have two sons. Peter is "interested in serving on the Lake Forest Caucus to help maintain the city's wonderful lifestyle." He is a Vice President at Baxter Healthcare Corporation, where he has worked for over 22 years. Peter graduated from Juniata College in central Pennsylvania. His career in the healthcare industry has led him to serve on political action committees and several trade associations, including the board of the Plasma Therapies Trade Association and national fundraising committees for several chronic diseases. 

 

David Schreiber
2012

Dave Schreiber holds an MBA from the University of Colorado.  He is the Technology Sales Manager for Oracle Corporation.  Dave was born in Lake Forest, his family then moved to Colorado.  Dave returned to Lake Forest in 2007 with his wife Jennifer and 2 young daughters.  He has completed the remainder of an unexpired term and is now serving his own full term.  Dave serves as a soccer coach for AYSO.  In his spare time he enjoys playing golf and running.

 

Vince Sparrow

Vince Sparrow Vince has a BA in Economics from Vanderbilt University and a MBA in Accounting from the University of Michigan.  Vince is a Senior Managing Director at Outsource Partners International. Vince has more than 30 years of experience in financial management and auditing.  He served as the Partner-in-Charge of the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) practice at KPMG and as a partner at Arthur Andersen where he was one of the pioneers in Andersen's BPO practices. Vince is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, the Illinois CPA Society, Financial Executives International (FEI), and the Association of Financial Professionals. His community service includes the boards of the Gorton Community Center, the Lake Forest Symphony, the National Runaway Switchboard and the Chicago Chapter of Financial Executives International.

Michael Freeman received a BS in Economics from Marquette university and a JD from Chicago Kent School of Law. Mike is an attorney and Director with Walgreen Company in Deerfield, where he concentrates on managing the firm's professional malpractice, product liability and general liability litigation. Mike speaks frequently at bar association seminars and mentors high school students by coaching them in debate. Mike, his wife Maureen and their four children have lived in Lake Forest since 2003. Mike also continues to serve Lake Forest School District 67 on the Emotional Wellness Committee. He views serving on the Caucus as a natural extension of his community service endeavors.
 

 

Anthony Fontana

Anthony Fontana received his BA in Economics from the University of Michigan.  Anthony is the owner of G. Fontana and Sons Construction a mason contracting company.  In this role, Anthony is responsible for hiring, managing a large number of employees.  He believes these skills will be an asset to him on the Caucus Committee in interviewing and selecting candidates for Boards and Commissions.  Anthony and his wife Angela have lived in Lake Forest over ten years and have three young children.  Anthony welcomes the opportunity to do what he can to help our community be a special place to live.

 

Robert Gariano
2012

Robert Gariano is founder and President of Robert Gariano Associates, an executive search firm based in Lake Forest. Bob Bob's educational background includes industrial design, business and engineering and holds the degrees of  BFA Carnegie Mellon University MBA University of Massachusetts (Amherst); MLA University of Chicago; MS EE Northwestern University. He and his wife Linda have four grown children and have resided in Lake Forest for the past 21 years. Bob founded the Joan Knowles Education Foundation, is a board member of the Chicago Foundation for Education, and was a trustee for Lake Forest Academy. Bob indicates that it is his desire to give back to this fine community
 

 

Marra Lochiatto
2014

Marra Lochiatto and her husband Ken have three school aged children.  She received her BA from the College of the Holy Cross and an MBA from Babson College.  Marra has served the Lake Forest community in a number of volunteer roles including APT Board Member, CCD teacher at St. Patrick's and as Chair of the Newcomers Committee.  Marra believes that Lake Forest is an outstanding community largely due to the talent and dedication of its volunteers and looks forward to the privilege of serving as a member of the 4th Ward Caucus Committee believing that through her service she will have the opportunity to learn more about Lake Forest and be a part of its continued success.
 

 

Gail R. Meneley
2014

Gail R. Meneley and her husband Ron have been residents of Lake Forest for almost 30 years.  Gail has served the 4th Ward Caucus Committee for over a year as an interim appointee and is seeking election to a full term.  She is a graduate of Mundelein College of Loyola, and co-founded Shields Meneley Partners, a Chicago-headquartered professional services firm that provides strategic advisory services to senior executives and boards of directors in times of crisis and transition. Prior to establishing Shields Meneley Partners, Gail was the CEO of a national financial services training organization with 250 locations around the country.  Gail's daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren live in Lake Forest and she is committed to preserving the character and uniqueness of our city for all those who call Lake Forest their home.
 

 

David Rauch

David Rauch, with a BA in Chemistry from Carthage College, David currently works at a large, international health care company as an Operations Manager.  As the Operations Manager he has responsibility for a staff of 80 employees.  David and his wife Mary have two children and have lived in Lake Forest over 11 years.  They are parishioners of St. Mary's and David is a volunteer coach of AYSO soccer.  His family enjoys the many parks, events and other benefits of being a Lake Forest resident. David has enjoyed the benefits living in Lake Forest and has a strong interest in ensuring that this tradition continues into the future.

Hilary Till received her BA with General Honors in Statistics from the University of Chicago and an MSc in Statistics from the London School of Economics.  Hilary is a principal of Premia Capital Management, LLC. She is active in professional and academic organizations and has serves on the North American Advisory Board of the London School of Economics. Hilary and her husband Joe have twins attending Deer Path Middle School.  Hillary thinks that it is wonderful that the City of Lake Forest is run by such a dedicated group of volunteers and looks forward to serving the Caucus and the community.

Lila Bogdanowicz

Lila Bogdanowicz and her husband, Andrew, and four children have been residents of Lake Forest for 11 years.  Lila has earned her BS in Psychology from Loyola University of Chicago and a Paralegal Certificate from Roosevelt University.  Most recently, she has returned to school to renew her certificate at The College of Lake County.  In 2008, she began working as a Special Education associate at Daniel Wright Middle School in Lincolnshire.  Previous to returning to the workforce, Lila volunteered in the community on many capacities. She was Cub Scout den leader of Pack 148 for six years, religious education teacher at The Church of St. Mary for four years, and a classroom chaperone, lunch/recess monitor and homeroom parent at Everett School for numerous years. Lila appreciates this opportunity to serve the community and to fulfill her civic duty as a member of the Lake Forest Caucus.
